Tableau 9 Feature and 3 GB Data Experiment

by Unknown  |  in Tools at  10:44 AM

Tableau :-
Tableau is market leader in the BI software world, it allows business users to understand their  data, then visualize and create interactive, sharable dashboards. Tableau is so simple to operate that even a non technical  Excel user can learn it, but powerful enough to satisfy even the most complex analytical problems. Securely sharing your findings with others only takes seconds.

Tableau 9 has features to allow you to import date from basic interfaces like excel, text file..

Tableau has in-build connector to get data from Big data interface, SAP, SAS, cloud and many other interfaces

Accessing data Live or Extract :-
Once you have connected to the data source , tableau has two option to keep the connection.
Live :-
The live option allows you to keep connected to the data source, you can access the live data and view the result immediately in your dashboard, the performance of the report/dashboard will be impacted the system you are connected to

Extract:-
The extract option allows you to get the data extracted from the source and keep it locally for your use, extract option is best for handling large amount of data, performance will be better

Working with 3GB Data on Tableau :-
I experimented Tableau with 3GB data,  it took around 8 min to load the data into the sheet, once the data get loaded into the sheet then the performance was really good. It takes little bit of time to get the data loaded into in-memory after that it ran fast

Though it takes time to load data initially , it performance really well once the data loaded into memory and it keeps it until you close the data source connection.

by Unknown  |  in Tools at  5:27 AM

Online database is a the new way of accsing data from internet,it's differs from a local database, held in an individual computer or its attached storage, such as a CD.

Sodadb (Simple Online Database) is one of online database and it's open source, free...

Creating Database :-

This database comes up with inbuilt template or you can create your own and start using it, the free version allows only 10000 records(with a pay you can get maximum 25000).

BI Tool - Sisense

by Unknown  |  in Tools at  6:06 AM

--It's another day and another BI tool, the old traditional way of tool data analytic no longer works. The BI software company's need to bring new technology to handle huge volume data and provide faster results and better data visualizations for business users

Today I am going to provide some highlights on "SiSense" Business Intelligence and Analytics software tool

Who is SiSense :
SiSense is a business analytics software company with offices in NY , Its business intelligence product which enables non-technical users to join and analyze large data sets from multiple sources, and a front-end for creating visualizations, like dashboards and reports, on any device, including mobile.

Architecture:

Using Entire Memory Hierarchy :- Like other BI tools this tool not only uses in-memory it also uses the memory available in the CPU and CPU power for better result.

Column Data Store :- Another change in the structure is the usage for column data store than the row based approach which will speed up data retrieval.
A columnar database is a database that stores data in columns instead of rows.
One of the main benefits of a columnar database is that data can be highly compressed.

CPU Usage:-
The toll takes full advantage of the fastest available memory: the CPU cache.

Single Instruction, Multiple Data (SIMD)
This tool leverages Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) instructions, also called vector instructions, from modern chip sets by applying vector algebra to the data. Taking full advantage of these In-Chip SIMD instructions enables columns of data to be acted upon in a single instruction.

Crowd Accelerated BI:
This tool breaks each query into blocks and caches them individually, collecting the blocks in a “recycle bin”. When a new question is asked, query blocks can be quickly reused by simply pulling them from the recycle bin.

This tool allows you to join multiple data sources and create a dashboard on top of it.
